Stand on a Soccer Ball

Stand on a Soccer Ball
Amaze your friends by catching a soccer ball, putting it on the ground, and standing on it! In addition to being a fun trick, training your sense of balance on a round object will help you to maintain good posture and sense of balance at any age.

Steps

  1. Find a decent sized soccer ball.
Find a decent sized soccer ball. Choose one that is not too big or too small; about size 5 works well.

  2. Take off your shoes.
Take off your shoes. It's good to try this in your bare feet, as they'll curve about the ball, making standing on the ball much easier.
  3. Put one foot on top of the ball.

Put one foot on top of the ball. Then, hold onto something until you learn how to stay balanced without holding on. A wall or a friend to lean on will work.
  4. Slowly put your other foot onto the top of the ball.

Slowly put your other foot onto the top of the ball. Place it right next to the other foot.
  5. Just stand there while you get a feel for the ball.
Just stand there while you get a feel for the ball.
  6. Carefully get off the ball.
Carefully get off the ball. Repeat the above steps. Practice this until you can stand on the soccer ball without holding onto something (or someone) anymore. A good way to show off this skill to your friends is to have somebody throw a soccer ball to you so you can catch it in your hands. Then put it down and carefully stand on it without holding onto anything or saying a thing!
    • Once you've mastered this technique, try it frequently to keep up the skill.

Tips

  • Have a spotter to help with leaning and to catch you if you fall.
  • Cushion the area around you in case you fall. Trying it next to grass or on grass is a good idea.
  • Proper inflation is a circumference of 28 inches.

Warnings

  • You can easily wreck a good soccer ball doing this and most coaches will advise against it. Either select an old ball you don't care about or just buy one solely for this purpose, perhaps from the dollar store.
  • Falling off anything can cause injury; take appropriate precautions to be careful.
