Dots and Boxes is a simple game to learn but can provide hours of entertainment when all you have available is a pen and paper.
Steps
- 1Draw the board. The board can be practically any size or shape. All that is necessary is for it to be uniform. For a beginner start with a square grid of dots 6x6.
- Choose which player is to go first and have that player join two unconnected adjacent dots with a line.
- Player two will go next in the same manner.
- The player that draws the 4th connecting line that completes any box earns a point for that box and takes another turn.
- Continue play until all boxes are complete. The player with the most points wins. "Congratulations"
Tips
- The points are typically recorded by placing, in the box, an identifying mark of the player, such as an initial.
Things You'll Need
